When to book it
Any time of year — winter often costs less
A bare, dormant tree is lighter and easier to read, frozen ground takes equipment without rutting, and there are no leaves to clean up. If the tree is not an active hazard, booking between December and March usually gets you a better number and a sooner date.

Does the price include the stump?
Not by default — grinding is quoted as a separate line so you can decide. On most residential trees it adds $100 to $400 depending on diameter and how close it sits to concrete or irrigation.

How do you get a big tree out of a tight backyard?
We climb it and take it apart from the top down, roping each piece to the ground rather than dropping it. It takes longer than felling, which is why access is one of the biggest factors in the quote.

Do I need a permit to remove a tree on my property?
In Kamiah and most of the surrounding county, no — a tree on your own land is your call. City right-of-way trees and anything on a protected easement are different, and we will flag it if we think you need to make a phone call first.

Will my insurance cover a tree that came down in a storm?
Often, if it hit something. Most policies cover removal when a tree damages a structure and cover little or nothing when it simply falls in the yard. We photograph the scene before we touch anything and can send those photos and an itemized invoice straight to your adjuster.

What is left behind when you finish?
A ground-level cut or a ground stump, raked soil, and no brush. We do a blower pass on drives and walkways before we leave.
